Hello everyone,
Today I began my training efforts for the big walk in October. I quickly realized why it is that
the training part is necessary. I walked about 5 miles in a local park near my apartment. I am
definitely glad that I still have a little under five months to train because the thought of adding
another 21 miles to todays walk seemes mildly daunting. The great part is that I've already done this
once, so I know that I can train hard to make it through again!
My training walks will not be nearly as exciting as walking through the five boroughs of New York City,
but I will get to explore parts of Philadelphia that I've never fully experienced. I hope to make it up
to NYC a couple of times this summer to participate in the training walks there.
I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has offered their support-both monetary and emotional.
Thanks to you I have already raised $195. I have just begun on my journey towards my goal of raising
$5,000...but what a start! I truly appreciate all of the kind words and support that you have offered
me so far, and that you will continue to offer me (especially when I hit mile 20 on Oct 7th and am
having a really hard time getting to 26.2) :)
