Friends and Family,
I can't believe how fast the summer is going. The walk is a little over 2 months away now, and
I'm sure it will be here before I know it. I continued my training today with a 12.5 mile walk around
Valley Forge National Historical Park. It is an absolutely beautiful park, full of amazing monuments as
well breathtaking scenery. I literally walked past 3 different groups of deer in the 3 hours I was there.
The walk was extremely challenging since the park has many hills. Unfortunately, my legs payed for it
later with some very painful muscle cramps, but it was great preparation for the actual event (Manhattan
is not flat!).
You have all been an amazing support to me, cheering me on and helping me to raise almost $1500 so far.
That means I am only $300 away from reaching my minimum participation requirement. I'm still fairly far
away from my fundraising goal of $5,000 but I know I can get there over the next few months. If you know
of anyone (friends, family, co-workers etc) that might be interested in supporting me as well as the
breast cancer cause, please forward this information along to them.
So far this year, there have been 5 walks all over the country in Washington, D.C., San Francisco,
Boston, Chicago, and Denver. These cities combined have raised over $28 million dollars this year, with
New York, Los Angeles, and Charlotte still scheduled to participate later this year. Through your
donations, you can help New York bring in the highest total of the year and provide much needed funding
to local hospitals and research facilities.
Please know how much I appreciate your support. I could not do it without you!
Remember that your donations are tax deductable and every penny makes a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
Thanks again!!
Sheryl
